How do students get off Academic Probation?

Post

Students get off of Academic Probation by passing all classes!

Example: Jonathan has an “F” in Math I on October 5, 2018

  • Jonathan is place on Academic Probation until November 8 (the next grading period). Jonathan is reassessed on November 8, 2018.
  • If Jonathan is now passing Math I and not failing any other course Jonathan is removed from Academic Probation.
  • If Jonathan is still failing Math I he remains on Academic Probation
  • If Jonathan is now failing a different course he remains on Academic Probation.

If students do not show up to Academic Probation by either:

  • Attending ASSETs – after school tutoring
  • Attending a teacher’s after school tutoring session and then going to ASSETs – after school tutoring when that session is over

Only then students will be placed on the no activities list.

The master attendance list will be maintained by Mr. Alvarez of the ASSETs Program. Lack of attendance under the terms of Academic Probation may result in the following:

  • Placement on the No Activities List
  • Contact with student family
  • SST Scheduled
  • Referral to SCUSD Hearing and Placement Office for Credit Recovery

The Academic Probation master list is shared with teachers and staff of Rosemont High School.
