School is closed next Monday, February 20th for the
Washington’s Birthday Holiday.
The Valentine Store will be open for pick up orders and for last
minute purchases. We will have a few items left to sell.
Deliveries will happen fourth period and sixth period for those
gifts with delivery.
Tomorrow is the first day of the 2nd semester. This is
a great time to remind students to remain focused and committed.
We would also like to remind students about the importance of
attending school every day. Poor attendance negatively impacts
students’ ability to be successful academically. We will discuss
this and other important second semester information at grade
level assemblies on Monday, February 6th. Let’s finish
the year strong!
Finals Week is January 23rd through the
27th, and students are released at 12:06 every day. On
Tuesday, January 24th, students take finals in periods
1 and 2. On Wednesday, they take finals in periods 3 and 4, and
on Thursday, they take finals in periods 5 and 6.

The Winter Concert is Thursday, December 15th at 6:30
p.m. in the Auditorium.
A friendly reminder to please exercise caution when picking up,
dropping off, and/or visiting the school. In recent weeks, a
number of concerns have been received with regard to driving
behavior and safety.
Multi-cultural Night is this Thursday, December 1st at
6:30 pm in the Cafeteria. One of the goals is to engage English
Learner parents here at Rosemont and encourage participation in
every facet of school life, including membership on our ELAC
committee. Our very own Green Academy’s Dario Urizar will be
preparing a special family recipe of Chicken Mole, and we will
provide a meal for 100 people first come, first served.
This week students take benchmark assessments in English 9 –11
and also in Math I, II and III. Assessment results will help
teachers as they plan instruction that meets the academic needs
of their students.
The Powderpuff Football game is this Thursday, November
17th at 5:00 pm in the Stadium.
School Site Council is this Tuesday, November 8th at

trip and still want information, the final sign-up meeting is

The last two performances of the fall play are this Thursday and
Friday at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium. Baked goods are sold during
Intermission. This play is phenomenal, so please come out to
support our drama students!
Last week, students and staff participated in the Great
California Shakeout Earthquake drill. This Wednesday morning, we
will conduct a lockdown and a fire evacuation drill. It’s
critical that we conduct these drills several times a year to
ensure that students and staff are prepared in the event of an

As you may know, social media is being used to post warnings of
“creepy clowns” showing up on school campuses and other public
places with the intent to do harm. This is happening across the

Just a reminder that parents may not stop along Kiefer Boulevard
to drop off or pick up students. Parents must come into the
parking lot. Cars that are stopped will be ticketed. The police
will also ticket anyone making a U-turn anywhere on Kiefer
Tomorrow, sales begin for the 2nd Annual Tri Tip
Dinner. Check with your favorite team or club to buy your tri tip

Back-to-School Night is this Thursday, September 22nd
from 6 – 7:30 p.m. On Thursday, your student will bring home a
flyer that includes their class schedule. Families may use this
document as a guide for rotating from class to class throughout
the evening. At 5:45, there is a brief general meeting of the
PTSA in the Cafeteria. At 5:55, we will ring a passing bell to
allow everyone time to get to their student’s first period class.
