Participation in the Graduation Ceremony is an earned privilege,
not a right. Administration reserves the right to exclude any
student from participating in this ceremony for any reason.
Graduating seniors must meet the following criteria in order to
participate in the Graduation Ceremony:
Our first Saturday Academy is on January 26th.
Students who have one or more days of absence have the
opportunity to make up their absence by attending this session.
We do not have the teacher capacity to invite all students, so we
will focus on freshmen and sophomores and may invite other
students as space opens up. If your student receives an
invitation, please sign the form and have your child return it
immediately to the Attendance Office. The returned forms will
inform us as we order meals for the participants. Saturday
Academy begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 12:45 pm.
Welcome back! We hope everyone had a fantastic holiday with
family and friends.
The beginning of the calendar year is a great time to reset and
make sure that students are doing everything they can to pass all
of their classes with grades of C or better. The 1st
semester grades will post to students’ transcript, so they’re
Please remind your student about the following:
Be here EVERY DAY.
If you are absent, make up any work that you missed.
Principal Vigil sent the message below to the parents or
guardians of seniors who were failing one or more classes.
“You are receiving this email because your senior student earned
a grade of “F” in one or more of his/her classes on the 2nd
quarter progress report. It is critical that all students pass
each of their classes, but it is especially critical for seniors,
who can easily go off-track for meeting graduation
The California School Dashboard has released the most recent
student performance data, and Rosemont shines! Our Graduation
rate is the highest among all of the five comprehensive high
schools – 93.6%, which is a 3.9% increase from 2017! We are very
proud to boast teachers, counselors, and other support staff who
are working diligently to ensure that all of our students are
meeting graduation requirements!
Help us help you; ensure that your Infinite Campus contact
information is up to date. It is now possible to update email and
cell phone data via the district website. You may also call
Rosemont and update the information with our office staff. If
your contacts are not current, you may not receive important
school and district communications.
This is the final week to sign your senior student up with a $75
deposit for the 3-day Senior Trip to Southern California.
December 1st is the final deadline! If you need additional
information, please contact (916) 761-9591
We are continuing our focus on raising daily attendance for all
students here at Rosemont High School! Our Chronic Absence
rate, which reflects students who have missed at least 2 days
each month, is at 18.8%. That’s over 250 students, which is
unacceptable! Missing two days every month can keep a student
off-track for Graduation! On the flip side, we had over 450
student who had perfect attendance during the month of October!
Please make sure that your student attends school EVERY DAY,
unless he or she is ill.
We learned on Friday that a student at our school were approached
and threatened by several suspicious individuals.
Although this reported incident occurred off campus and
after school hours, I want to alert you of them so that you
will make sure your student is cautious when walking to and
from school or in the surrounding neighborhood.
Law enforcement has been contacted about these incidents and
is conducting a full investigation.
Beginning tomorrow, Friday, October 19th, we will no
longer allow restaurant food deliveries to students. Parents may
deliver food to students, but must come into the front office to
do so. Students will not be called out of class. They must come
to the office at the beginning of lunch to retrieve their food.
Thank you for reminding your student about this new policy. We
made this announcement to students at the end of 6th
PLEASE remind students to be extremely careful what they post on
social media – especially anything that could be considered
offensive to other people. We take this behavior very seriously,
and several students were suspended for an offensive posting just
last week. Take the time to discuss this important topic with
On Friday, over 450 students received a certificate for perfect
attendance for the month of September!! This is such a critical
component of academic success, so we are very proud of all
students who strive to be at school every day!
If you haven’t already filled out an LCFF form, please do so
ASAP! This form is different from the lunch form we used to
require. All students now eat free of charge, but we must still
have an LCFF form for everyone. These forms determine school
funding. For every student who does not turn in a form, the
district loses approximately $2100. If you need another form,
they are available in the front office.
Thanks to all of the families who attended Back-to-School Night!
We truly appreciated meeting with all of you and hope you learned
a lot about our academic programs. As always, please reach out
with any questions or concerns.

Due to a decrease in enrollment for the 2018-19 school year, we
had to reduce by two teachers. Unfortunately, that necessitated a
number of class changes. To minimize confusion on Monday morning,
all students will receive a new class schedule in their first
period class. They should check alphabetized lists on the library
and cafeteria windows for their first period class, which may
have changed. Thank you so much for your patience during this
