This year was very exciting for our softball program.  For the first time in three years a JV team was added, along with two additional coaches. It was a very successful first season as the team finished with a record of 13-1-3.

The varsity team took second place in the Sierra Valley Conference with a league record of 12-3, and an overall record of 18-6. The team also had five players selected to the All-League team. The varsity girls earned a trip to the 2017 CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Championship in the Division IV tournament. They advanced to the second round, beating Lindhurst High School 5-4. On Thursday 5/18, in the second round of playoffs, the team lost to Calaveras High School 8-3 ending their tremendous season. Congratulations Rosemont Softball! For Track and Field, congratulations to Mele Vaiomo’Unga for winning the Division 4 Championship in the discus throw. She will be moving on to compete in the Masters meet in both the discus throw and shot-put this week. The Men’s 4×100 relay team of Harry Vu, Chris Ginto, Justin Long, and Jalen Ward also moved on to the Masters meet with a 4th place finish. A top three finish for any of these athletes at the Masters meet will qualify them for the state championships!

A reminder that next Monday, May 29th, is the Memorial Day Holiday. Enjoy your long weekend!
