Irene Colaivalu has been selected to the Sacramento River Cats All-City High School Sports Team presented by SportStars Magazine! Just a junior, this Wolverines guard led the Sierra Valley Conference with 18 points per game and added 7.8 rebounds and 4.9 steals per contest. As a finalist for Player of the Year in girls basketball, she will receive an All-City Team patch for her lettermen’s jacket during a pregame ceremony at Raley Field. During the ceremony, they will also name the winner for each sport and honor them with a Player of the Year medal. The male and female Athlete of the Year will also be named! Congratulations to Irene for this accomplishment!!
Congratulations to our Varsity Baseball team for making the division 4 playoffs. Our boys enter as the 7th seed and will face #2 Lincoln of Lincoln. The game is Wednesday, May 13th at 7 p.m. in Lodi at Tony Zupo Field.
Congratulations to Austin Poberezhnik, who recently won a gold medal for a one-act Outstanding Performance at the Lenea High School Theatre Festival! It’s a great honor to win a gold medal at the prestigious High School Competition!
Two reminders for the coming week: Our CAPA showcase is Friday, May 15th at 6:30 p.m. Come hear a performance by Mr. Boettner’s digital music students, and some special musical guests. Also, the Community Rummage Sale is this Saturday, May 16th from 8 – 2 in the Rosemont Parking Lot. Spaces are still available!
SMUD would like you to know that journeymen lineworkers can make over $200,000 a year. A large number of employees from public utilities will be participating in competitions at the APPA Lineworkers Rodeo on May 16th at Gibson Ranch from 7:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Students will have a chance to see what linework is all about. They’ll also be able to talk with the people who do the job to learn more about the skills needed to succeed! The event is free.
Wolverine Welcome Week, our parent and student orientation, is August 25 – 28th. Seniors attend on Tuesday, August 25th from 9 – 11. Juniors attend that same day from 1 – 3. Sophomore orientation is Thursday, August 27th from 9 -11 and Freshman orientation is Friday, August 28th from 9 – 12. This year, parents and students will attend a grade-specific orientation assembly in the large gym and then have the opportunity to purchase ASB cards, yearbooks, PE clothes and Wolverine gear. We will also provide families with information about sports, clubs, and our ASSETS after school program. Parents will be able to join PTSA. We hope to see all of our new and returning families during Wolverine Welcome Week!
