March 5th, 2017

There is a Boosters meeting Wednesday, March 8th at 5:00 pm in the Cafeteria. Our parent Boosters organization raises money for clubs and sports teams here on campus. Many thanks to Boosters President Becky Hypolite, who works every day coordinating and personally volunteering at all of the Boosters activities. She can’t do it without help, so please consider getting involved and providing support for this critical effort which benefits all Rosemont students.

If parents have a band student traveling to Disneyland next month, there is a mandatory meeting in the cafeteria at 6:30 pm on Wednesday after the Boosters meeting.

The Superintendent Search Town Hall Meeting at Rosemont is this Tuesday, March 7th from 6 – 8 pm in the Library. Please come out to provide input about this important district decision.

The 2017-18 school calendar has been approved. School starts on Thursday, August 31st. The entire calendar is posted on the district and the Rosemont website.

Seniors – Grad Night tickets are on sale now in the Controller’s Office.

Senior parents: if you intend to purchase a senior memory ad in the back of the yearbook, please contact Ms. Braun no later than March 18th.

Anthony Sosa wrestled at the State competition last week – ultimately losing after receiving an injury to his eye. It’s still historic that he made it this level, and we couldn’t be more proud.

The track and field team is off to a great start this season. Last week, the squad had two opportunities to compete, first at the JFK Spring Opener last Wednesday, and then this past Saturday at the Invitation only Sac State Track Classic. At the JFK Spring Opener, many of our wolverines opened up their season by running, throwing, or jumping personal bests. Notables would be Sophomore Jaylen Ward who won both the varsity boy’s 100m, and 200m dash. He would go on to place 2nd in the 100m and 3rd in the 200m races at the Sac State Track classic, being the 1st athlete in school history to get on the podium in the sprints. Nalani Martinez also had great showings Wednesday and Saturday, winning the 100m and the long jump at Kennedy, then placing 4th overall at the Sac State Track Classic. The track team takes the next week off from competition. They will be back in action at the Lancer Invitational on the 18th, then hosting Cordova for the first SVC Duel meet of the season.

Congratulations to the February Students-of-the-Month!
