March 22, 2015

The PTSA is holding the first planning meeting for the upcoming Rosemont High Parking Lot Sale. Please join us on March 26th at 6:30 p.m. @ Round Table Pizza on Kiefer Blvd. to start planning this event. Proceeds go directly to the class of 2016 to fund their upcoming Safe and Sober Grad Night. This will not only be a fundraiser for our school but a community event, as well. Let’s help strengthen the bond in our community and raise some money for our students! If you have any questions, please email Wendi Bloyed at

Also on March 26th is a meeting for the Spring Dinner Event on Friday, May 8th for the classes of 2017 and 2018. This meeting is from 6 – 7 p.m. at Roundtable. Please plan to attend. If you can donate food, supplies, desserts or silent auction items, please contact us at or go to our Facebook page.

In order to raise funds for Grad Night, the PTSA is sponsoring a golf tournament on Saturday, May 9th at the Cordova Golf Course. The day begins with a free breakfast at Perko’s. Golf follows until the Awards Ceremony at noon. Tickets are $60 for each individual golfer and $220 for a team of four.  The goal is for each senior to get two cart sponsorships. We need all seniors to get out there and get people to sign up! Tournament flyers and sponsorship forms are available in the front office.

Congratulations to all of the students who performed in Friday Night’s Talent Show. Everyone was amazing. Although it was very difficult to choose, 3 acts took the top spots:

3rd place was the duo of Ashley De Leon and Christina Kim performing an original song. 2nd place went to Tremaine Roots who played a beautiful piano solo, and the 1st place winner was Anisa Levels, who performed a professional quality dance routine that would have given the Kings Royal Court Dancers a run for their money! Congratulations to our winners and to everyone who performed. Thanks, also, to all of the families who came out to support our talented students.

Congratulations, as well, to our Robotics team who competed along with 55 other schools at this weekend’s FIRST Robotics Competition at UC Davis. They had a successful competition and received special attention for making an enormous amount of progress since last year’s event. Kudos to Mr. Stafford and all of his dedicated Robotics students!

More exciting news – The Tournament of Champions for the Northern California Band Association Winter Guard and Percussion, happening this Saturday, is the largest event ever held on the Rosemont campus. There are 95 groups from over 55 schools participating from Northern California and Western Nevada. Schools wait YEARS to host this event. Some never get the chance…We are fortunate to be awarded this honor! Good luck to Ms. Wilmer and all of our band students!

Spring Break is next week! School is closed next Monday, March 30th thru Friday, April 3rd. School resumes on Monday, April 6th.

Essence of Rosemont is Friday, April 10th from 5 – 8 p.m. Please bring the entire family to this amazing event, which features entertainment, food, performances, demonstrations, and games for the kids. Stay for the family movie at 8:00 in our quad. This Rosemont tradition is the highlight of the year, so please join us!
