Our Robotics Team will be participating the FIRST Robotics Competition at UC Davis this weekend. Here are some details:

  • The event will be held in the UC Davis Pavilion.
  • The event is free, parking is not.
  • Qualifying matches run from 9-5:45 on Friday & 9-noon Saturday (We recommend Saturday morning). If you wear closed-toed shoes, you are welcome to visit the pit area. Please grab a pair of loaner safety glasses on the way into the area.
  • If you want to watch the matches on live streaming, search for The Blue Alliance, go to the week 4 events, and select the Sacramento Regional. We are team 5274. If you select our team number, you will find a schedule of our matches as well as results and standings.

This week in sports, our baseball team went 1-1 in their two league games this week, falling earlier in the week to rival Cordova, 10-9, and scoring 9 runs in the 7th inning to beat Galt HS. The boys play 3 home games this week (M-W-F). Come down and check them out! Our softball team continue to take care of business in league play, going 2-0 and pushing their league record to 3-0, tied for 1st place with Liberty Ranch. The ladies beat El Dorado HS at home 5-1 and Union Mine HS on the road 5-2. Our co-ed swim team had their first match of the year on Wednesday and, after spending only 2 days in the pool, had an excellent showing. Ultimately, the high number of swimmers on the other team was too much to overcome. Great week for all of our student-athletes!

Finally, on Friday night, Winter Guard placed first in their division at the Del Oro Winter Show. On Saturday, Wind Ensemble received ratings of “Excellent” at the Golden Empire Music Festival at CSUS. Congratulations to all of our musicians!
