Next Friday, we begin the Blues in the Schools program where we work with a local blues musician and learn the blues form (America’s (via Africa) contribution to the world of music) and will perform in an all ages showcase with bands from West Campus and Woodcreek. We are seeking musicians and singers! The group will be meeting at 3:15 on Fridays (starting March 1st) in J-112 culminating in a performance in May.

Pennies for Patients is a campaign to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Our goal is to raise $1,300 for this organization. If every student and adult on campus donated $1, we could easily reach our goal of $1,300. Fourth period classes will compete with one another to see who raises the most money. The class that raises the highest amount will win an ice cream sundae party.

RHS Skate Night is Tuesday, 2/26 from 6 – 8 pm at “The Rink” on Bradshaw. Students must arrange for their own transportation for this event.

The Semester Awards Ceremony is Thursday, February 28th from 10:30 – noon. At this school-wide ceremony, we will recognize students who excelled in academics and attendance in the first semester.

For anyone who wants to attend softball games, baseball games, and track meets, parking is limited to the top parking lot. The spaces in front of the stadium snack bar are reserved for coaching staff, umpires, and handicapped parking. All other spectators must park in the large lot above the sports complex. Anyone who is parked in the fire lanes will be ticketed.

Congratulations to the 2017-18 Golden Rose Yearbook staff! Last year’s yearbook was showcased in Lifetouch’s annual “look book,” Creative Inspirations. This book is sent to yearbook advisors nation-wide and features outstanding yearbook designs. This is the fourth year in a row that Rosemont’s yearbook has been featured in this book. In addition, Ms. Braun has been asked to lead a session for other advisers on staff organization and efficiency at Lifetouch’s annual yearbook camp. Congrats to Ms. Braun and the Golden Rose Yearbook staff.
