Now for some good news…

On Wednesday, the track team hosted rival El Dorado HS to open up a dual meet season. On the girls’ side, there were many great performances. Of note was Diana Mensah’s victory in the 300m hurdles, where she battled back from 2nd place over the last hurdle to burst ahead for the win! On the boys’ side, the Wolverine hurdle crew swept the 110m Hurdles (David Lyubezhanin 1st) and 300m Hurdles (Oscar Gutierrez 1st). Jaylen Ward doubled up on victories in the 100m, and 200m, plus victories in both relays helped lead the boys team to their 1st victory over El Dorado HS in school history and handing the cougars their 1st loss in league competition since 2010! Many athletes also recorded a season best or personal best in the competition! The Wolverines will be back in action April 14th at the Bronco Invite at Bella Vista HS.
Our varsity girls softball team won all three contests this week! The Lady Wolverines beat Cordova 11-1, Union Mine 9-0, and El Dorado 10-0!! Our baseball team split their games this week. The team beat Galt by a score of 4-2, but lost to Cordova 5-3. Due to all the recent rain, both teams’ schedules have been modified. Please check game times before heading down to the fields.

Lastly, congratulations to Senior Mason Pittaro, who will be signing her letter of intent to play softball for Glenville State College in West Virginia on Monday, April 16th at 3 pm in the library!
