January 22, 2019

Our first Saturday Academy is on January 26th. Students who have one or more days of absence have the opportunity to make up their absence by attending this session. We do not have the teacher capacity to invite all students, so we will focus on freshmen and sophomores and may invite other students as space opens up. If your student receives an invitation, please sign the form and have your child return it immediately to the Attendance Office. The returned forms will inform us as we order meals for the participants. Saturday Academy begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 12:45 pm.

Our district needs your feedback as they work to improve school climate at all of our district schools. Please log on to the SCUSD website and take the School Climate Survey. We have also included a link to the survey on the Rosemont website.

Finals in all classes are this week: Tuesday, 1/22 through Thursday, 1/24. Students take finals for periods 1 and 2 on Tuesday, periods 3 and 4 on Wednesday, and periods 5 and 6 on Thursday. Students are released each day at 12:06 p.m. Lunch is served at that time, and 7th period begins at 12:45 pm.

To help prepare for finals, students may attend an additional “Cocoa and Cram” study session in the cafeteria on Tuesday, 1/22 from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. Teachers will be available for help during these quiet study sessions. Students may not use cell phones, ear buds, or other personal technology. Students who do not study quietly or follow the rules in the cafeteria will be asked to leave.

Friday, January 25th is the last day of the 1st semester and also a shortened day. Students are released at 12:06 pm, and lunch is served at that time. 7th period classes begin at 12:45 pm.

This week, we submit our final WASC Self-Study Report. The visiting committee will review the document in preparation for the site visit March 11 – 13th. The goal is a six-year accreditation! Thanks to all of our families who provided feedback throughout the Self-Study process.
