It’s Spirit Week! Please encourage students to dress up each day leading up to the Winter Rally on Friday!

-Monday: COZMAS (Dress for Holiday Comfort)

-Tuesday: Holiday socks and hats

-Wednesday: Candy Cane Day (red and white)

-Thursday: Character Day

-Friday: Ugly Sweater/Class Colors

On Wednesday, December 19th, we will conduct our three mandatory safety drills: Lockdown, Drop, Cover, and Hold On, and Fire Evacuation. Teachers have received detailed instructions for each of these drills and will review them with students. This planned drill is to ensure that students and staff are prepared in the event of an actual incident. Future drills will be unannounced. We will, however, notify parents so you know that they are only drills.

Friday, December 21st is the last day of school before our two-week winter break. We hope all of our families enjoy a wonderful holiday! We will see students back on Monday, January 7th.

To make sure that our entire community is aware of details surrounding our current budget crisis, I encourage you to visit the SCUSD Budget Review Process webpage and read FCMAT’s fiscal health analysis of our district.

Now for some great news!

Last week, JV and Varsity boys’ soccer lost to Pleasant Grove, but Wrestling beat Galt 60-21 with 9 pins!!!!

Between two nights of Rosemont Community Santa Parades, about 30 of our LEAD students volunteered, and some of them even worked both nights. They bundled up and walked 4-5 miles per route through the north and south portions of the Rosemont communities collecting toys/gifts and spreading holiday cheer, and the coordinator and Ms. Siegert were very impressed that not one student asked to use the “rest car” that was at the end of the parade, even though it was about 48 degrees both nights and they walked for about 2 1/2 hours. Saturday morning, Ms. Siegert and 15 students (some of whom are not in LEAD but just wanted to help!) headed out to Raley Field from 9:30-1:30 to work with the Sheriff’s Dept to pass out toys to kids in need and to assist in whatever way possible.
