Originally founded by RHS’ very own Ms. Snider, GSA has been a club dedicated to encouraging diversity in our school’s student population and providing a safe space to those who fall within the LGBTQAP* spectrum.
Harvey Milk Day: Every year, we celebrate Harvey Milk Day by watching a short documentary on Harvey Milk, an influential gay rights activist, after school, and also offer milk and cookies.
Day of Silence: GSA encourages RHS’ student body to protest the bullying and harassment of LGBTQAP teens by being silent for a full day on campus. We provide sign-up sheets, ribbons and permission slips explaining the Day of Silence to students and teachers.
Everyone is encouraged to join, if they have an open mind and are an ally or part of the LGBTQAP community. We never turn away potential members, and would like to, at the very least, educate people on campus who may be interested in the community.
