February is Black History Month

All year long, we recognize the struggles, triumphs and central place in American history of our Black community. Black History Month is an annual month-long celebration and we encourage our staff, students and families to take part in discussions and events that are taking place throughout February. As part of Black History Month, social studies teachers will engage students in activities and discussions related to Black History. In addition, the Black Parallel School Board is participating in the National Black Parents’ Involvement Day on February 21st. Parents are invited to observe and/or volunteer at their children’s school. See the informational flyer for more information.
